DPMC provided a HUD 221(d)4 Substantial Rehabilitation to renovate the historic former Jean Lafitte Hotel in Galveston into an 83 unit, high-rise, mixed-use development with a combination of affordable housing units, market rate units and 3,061 square feet of commercial space. The 10-story building sits at the end of the Galveston Strand Historic District. The Mortgagor received secondary financing from CDBG disaster recovery funds from the Hurricane Ike Fund as well as Historic Tax Credits.
